The hole looks like #13 at Sawgrass.  I don't think that's Pete Dye though.

I willl guess it's Ron Farris?  I haven't seen you since we both interviewed up in Minnesota.......and I don't recall an Adonis like build on you then......

It also looks a little like KBM from behind, and might be Brad Benz or Chuck Ankrom.

BTW, nice to see you carry on the gca.com butt shot traditions!

I think the large green mounding in the back is a give away for stadium seating. :D

I am not sure what hole this is of, perhaps 18? ???

Looks like Lanny Wadkins.  A bit of searching tells me he does have  a "Wadkins Design Group" and I think they did the Pinnacle Club in Ohio.  He also worked with Fazio on the TPC Myrtle Beach Course.

And if all of that ain't true - blame Google.

The guy in the yellow striped shirt sure looks like Jim Nelford, the former touring pro, but I do not believe he was in the golf course design business.

That last photo looks more like 7 at Sawgrass, the first is certainly 13.

Fuzzy's not 5' 10'  He's 5'7"...my height.

Not that it means anything but the guy you say is Ron Shitter looks a lot like George Burns to me. By the way, I have no idea who that guy is on the right but my wife was circling behind my computer when that photo was on my 30 inch monitor and she said she has no idea who the guy on the right is either but she sure does think he has a nice ass.

Those massive wild mounds on the right of that same photo of the three players on the tee are pretty remarkable too and so I called Pete and Alice about them and asked them what in the hell inspired those things. They told me they got that idea while touring the Mayan ruins in Central America and they refer to them as "Mayan Spectator Mounds."

I then told them they are so remarkably outrageous that perhaps the club should hire some golf course architect by the name of Cortez who could come in there and whip them all out and kill all the Mayan spectators in the process as Cortez did some many centuries ago. And if the club would consider doing that I suggest they get on with it because it seems the Mayan Calander comes to an end next year which some think also means the world will come to an end in 2010!

Our instructor wore the striped shirt.
We were graciously allowed to play Sawgrass with our now famed architect and at that time professor, Brian.

That should end this thread if it already isn't dead.

Thanks for the thread Ron.  I'm bummed I had to turn down an opportunity play one of his designs tomorrow (Black Creek) as I've heard a lot of good things about the course.

Indeed the picture is of Brian Silva.  As a professor at the School of Golf Operations at Lake City, 60 miles west of Sawgrass, Brian took a group of us over to Sawgrass to play.  As students we visited the course, laid sod, etc.  We helped with fences and such during the first tournament.  Not sure how tall Mr. Silva was at the time, but cameras can play games with that sort of thing.  I have not had the pleasure of playing one of his designs, but I do look forward to the day that happens.
