Toronto XMas GCA Gathering
« on: November 20, 2009, 08:12:49 AM »
Hey all -- typically the Toronto types gather for some beers, debate and all-around good discussion around now. Wondering if there would be many interested in a gathering in Toronto over the next couple of weeks. I'm specifically thinking the 4th or the 11th of December at the usual haunt in Toronto's Beaches. Past years we've had a dozen or more show up. Anyone interested?

Hey Rob.

If I can make it at all, the 11th will work better for me. I'm "stuck" out west past the 4th...

And, I can offer a slide show on how to "restore" bunkers in a rocky swamp (don't ask for details!)  :)

I'll see if some montrealers can make it out there...

the 11th would be better for me, I think.

Jeff: just add more sand, at some point you'll end up in dunes land

I would most likely be up for it....

But didn't Ian or yourself talked about doing something where Dave Kemp lives so that he can attend? Let me know if there is interest, as I will will try to win enough browny points to make it up to Toronto....  The baby doesn't sleep through the night yet, so I need lots of them!!!  ;D

Would love to get together with the guys. The 11th works. The 4th does not.

The 11th would work -- we could investigate whether we can involve/move our location so Dave can join us -- if only for a little while. I'm good the 11th -- though the 12th would be out. The Friday seems to work for Matt, Phillipe, Yannick and Mingay. That's a good start. If anyone needs a place to stay they'd be welcome at my place -- we have room for at least two.

I'm in.

I'll work to everyone else's schedule.

Jeremy, Yannick, Philippe, Jeff.
I can probably arrange to put all you guys up if that helps all of you out.

I would like to arrange it so that Dave can attend.
We could move the get together to Aurora for that reason.

Non-Canadians are always welcome!

Ian

You think the Montreal crew will want to go to Brantford?  :-X

What about our other regulars -- WayneK, etc.?

Brantford or TO doesn't make any difference for me... it's in Leafs territory

I'm definitely interested in participating - just need to make sure the wife is okay on her own with our little one before fully committing!

After playing golf with him during the Otter Creek GCA event, I like the idea of moving this event closer to Dave to improve his chances of attending.

The 11th sounds good for me.  I know people are coming from all over, but does anyone live in/near the beaches?

I can hopefully make it too. However, I am with Henry, can we make it more central?

If Ben Cowan-Dewar will grace us with his presense, we will be accommodating!

I'm thinking a visit to Dave earlier in the day and then a gathering at our usual spot in the Beaches -- Murphy's Law. That isn't too expensive a cab ride home for this chap -- so it is all self-serving.

Now we're at:

Montreal boys
Matt
Matt B.
RT
IA
BCD
Henry

Any other takers?

A maybe? Come off the fence Nicholson!

What about Wayne K? Kirkpatrick -- who will have to be home by 9 so his nurse can tuck him in. There must be others.

We're up by a few more:

Montreal boys
Matt
Matt B.
RT
IA
BCD
Henry
Jeremy
Wayne
GerryB
Guy (maybe)
TJ Rule

I'll make arrangements at the usual spot -- Murphy's Law -- in the Beaches. Ian and I will probably go up and see Dave Kemp that afternoon -- and it would be great if anyone has time to join us.

 8) I may be in Toronto just after your meeting, heading for 15th & 16th in Waterloo..

What's this Beaches place all about?

I will see if my nurse can let me out until 9 or so, when I have to be in bed.
