Anthony, please post that photo of you in your orange outfit (the "Dreamsicle") at Aiken Golf Club, so we will know how seriously to take this latest affront, er, attempt at humor.

What?  BarneyF coming back or a picture of an orange popsicle?

I would love to put Anthony and John in an interrogation room for a day and, unbeknownst to them, watch.  They could even bring their choice of beverage to the event.

Eric is not the one who owns this site. Bob is correct, you need to discuss this w/ Ran.

John, tell us all about Dismal River?  What were your thoughts?

    Q. John, tell us all about Dismal River? What were your thoughts? A. I feel like by joining Dismal River I did more than just join a specific club, I joined a belief that nature and her formations can play an important role in a mans life as his own ability to transform nature begins to diminish. I found the Sand Hills to be so fascinating that if a hole, green, fairway or bunker is in one specific place or another it becomes insignificant against the scale of the region. Dismal is what Dismal is today and what it will be tomorrow which is in my opinion an ever changing environment of interesting drives, approaches, recoveries and putts. That is all I want, need or can hope to receive through any club. I recently visited on a day when the club was closed and only played to a limited number of greens where there were neither pins nor holes cut. My playing partner and I would reach the green, place a tee next to our ball and putt to the others tee. I had only fun and played off tees that suited my game well. I did take time to tour the new 13th and believe that it will be in the top 5 finest holes on the course. The new green is located long/left of the existing green in a manner that replicates the alternate route on #9 at Pacific Dunes. I can't wait to return and see the entire course in whatever outfit she decides to wear whatever day I arrive. I don't think I need to tell anyone reading this that when in a long range relationship beauty and excitement go a long way towards ignoring a bottle of Boniva on the counter.

Anthony, you need to do some digging to see why he's not on this site anymore. No, I don't have a question. I hope John is doing well.

Sometimes choosing NOT to comment on something is just so unsatisfying. :P
What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

OK you got me. I recieved an IM to stop it with Mike by one of the big hitters on the site. So I'm going down to visit him next week since I cannot ask him more question on this forum. It is John's desire to limit the questioning to only architectual topics. He is one of the greatest minds so I accept his wishes.

I'd simply ask John why he didn't share more of his thoughts on architecture during his time on here. His few posts on architecture were usually pretty solid.

  Q. I'd simply ask John why he didn't share more of his thoughts on architecture during his time on here. A. Like I tell my wife, thats all I got. I got caught up in the site being to big a part of my everyday life instead of what it is meant to and should be, a place to discuss golf architecture. In other words I doubt that I held back on a single thought on architecture I ever had, I just never had that many in comparison to the vast sea of ignorance that I neither had the courage or desire to restrain.
