The Lighter Side of Golf in America

Here are few "lighter moments" I came across during my recent USA (Final Frontier) trip...

1. That's pretty hard to do on a golf course....


2. Smile


3. What could I do to improve this layout....


4. It gets a bit wet in the NE


5. Trying to keep dry...


6. Or things could be worse for golf...


7. Then again they may not...


8. Be carefull where you take a divot....


9. You may find the rough quite a challenge...


10. and the bunkers...


11. and the approaches....


12. yardage markers are accuarate....


13. and the course is a challenge....


14. and some of our trees are as well...


15. ...they love their trees....


16. and who said "the centre of the green is best"....


17. Americans love their courses....


18. and obviously a drink afterwards in the locker room


19. Their houses aren't big at all.....


20. But at the end of the day - we all love the game of golf....

One correction, though. In photo 3 Ed may just be wondering "now what time does that last ferry leave?" ;D

    You must have photoshopped that picture of me in the rough. I seem to remember nothing but fairways and greens that day. 8)Rose-colored sunglasses!

So that's where you've been!  What course was that with the deep hay?

I thought you might be a surprise visitor at the Dixie Cup, couldn't have been that far from Raleigh!

Man oh man, I played both #8 and #16 down the left rough.  That is NOT the preferred route in either case.  A pair of snowmen resulted.   :o ::)

  People may not appreciate the photo from behind #1 green at Rolling Green. That green slopes severely from back to front and yet all of that water makes it seem flat. We were out in that? You can't see Wayne Morrison and I arguing about whether rough belongs in front of the green!

   I really wanted to be there, but between family and work that particular weekend just couldn't be negotiated. I'll see you guys next year for sure.

It was the left of the P5 16th at Fishers Island - there's another shot of a hole at FI in the mix there as well if anyone can guess it ?

Kevin, I should have recognized the hut from Aronimink as I played it the day after Lancaster in July! They were working on that building when we were there. Lancaster had a similar house off the teebox on either 13 or 14. Nice pictures from a dream trip,  Jack

I know the "house" you are referring to at Lancaster I believe it was to the left of the 13th - the uphill dogleg left P5.

It was indeed a great trip and I'll post some threads in due course.
