In light of Ran installing Mark Rowlinson's winter browsing thread, I thought I might bring this thread back by way of suggestion to Ran that it would make an excellent addition to IN MY OPINION, in the same manner as Mark's piece.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago in an Updated AOTD thread that most of the past aerials were not available as my ISP had changed software again.  :P  It wasn't trivial, but they're all available again.

Also, all of the recent Updated AOTD threads have been linked on page 1 of this thread beside the original thread link, but only in the alphabetical state listing, not in the chronological listing.

The alphabetical state listing (the one that is much easier to find things) can be found directly via this link:

Thought I'd bump this up for those who haven't seen it. I really enjoyed the Aerial of the Day series and still consult it all the time...

I had seen this mentioned before, but had no idea. This is a great resource! Thanks, Scott. And, thanks Chris for bringing it to our attention.

In my book, the second greatest work on GolfClubAtlas, behind Ran's collection of course reviews.  A great reference.

"Bookmark" means save the website address on your web browser.

If you have Internet Explorer, go to the intended website, and then using the top menu, press Favorites > Add To Favorites, then follow instructions.  Should be easy.

The way I bookmark threads on this site is simply to click notify on the thread. Therefore, I have site specific bookmarks found under notifications on the discussion group page. Don't have to look through my vast array of other bookmarks to find things bookmarked here.

I thought I would bump this old thread for all the new members, and some old ones, to bookmark. Years ago Scott Burroughs provided a guesing game by posting aerial shots of a course and allowing guessing and cluing to go on for the rest of the day. Enjoy. Links were provided.

Due to the change in site hosting, the links don't work.

To solve the problem, place your mouse over the LINK and see the threadID # (typically 3 digits - example, NGLA is 4882) and then edit the browser address for a current GCA thread with the AOTD threadID #.

The old links show this URL:

Where the new correct link URL is:

Mike,

That's more research into the new link code than I did.  I noticed this immediately after the web site change & just figured I'd leave this page
alone to die, as it would have been a massive amount of work to fix.  Now I could do it with less work (using code I use at my job), but it's still
more effort than I care to do at this point 6 years after posting it.
