I say Jay only gets two courses in each round until he gives Sleepy Hoolow back to Macdonald and GET IT OFF YOUR TILLY LIST!

Tilly did not have enough of his own designs???

Tilly did five holes at sleepy hollow

You were supposed to PM him since you made the last pick.  Did you?  Okay 10:00 AM Eastern time.

I didn't see that suggestion.  My bad.  Looks like he showed up in fine Engh butt-boy fashion.

why dont we have more trade action?

maybe we should limit an archie to twice in one round?  more diversity of picks?

I wanna see who's gonna pick Burch Webb.  Wouldn't you love a portfolio of Lost Goose, Mescalina, and Hollywood Dunes?  ;D

Tilly did five holes at sleepy hollow

I know he did, but they were just re-worked to more of a Macdonald style. I think you have much better representations of Tilly's work than Sleppy Hollow still on the board...

Nope.  If you want Sleepy Hollow, trade me for it. ;D

http://golfclubatlas.com/courses-by-country/usa/sleepy-hollow-country-club-ny-usa

From Ran's article:

"by the late 1920s, A.W. Tillinghast was brought in to increase the number of holes to twenty-seven. In so doing, Tillinghast created the first, eighth through twelfth and eighteenth holes and then knitted them into Macdonald’s course.

Both Macdonald and Tillinghast were giants during the Golden Age of golf course architecture. Macdonald had just completed his masterpiece on Long Island when he was brought in for Sleepy Hollow. Meanwhile, much of Tillinghast’s reputation for building superb parkland courses is based on his work within Westchester County. Unfortunately for future Club boards, Sleepy Hollow had a mixture of holes from two men, making it both a Macdonald and a Tillinghast course. Thus, the conundrum the board faced was how to act as a custodian when it wasn’t certain what it was trying to preserve."

Bill, where were you when Jaeger listed Shinny as Macdonald?  That's waaaay more Flynn.

So I'm going with Doak: Cape Kidnappers, Bay of Dreams, and Lost Dunes.

And I immediately start singing my favorite GCA song... ;)

THats what i'm talking about...I got robbed in round 1 because I picked Flynn with Shinny.

Jim consider this my official protest, and I'm submitting it to you as league commissioner...no way I shouldn't get Shinny with my 1st round pics!!   ;D  Calling shinny a CBM effort is both a sham and a shame to this entire process!! ;D

Although I must admit I'm mildly intrigued to find out what Tims asking price is for Ballyneal.

Just saw this note.  I will give you Ballyneal for Pine Valley and Rock Creek.  I might consider Pine Valley 1 for 1 but I consider it an unknown commodity since I haven't played it.   ;D ;D

Eric Smith - Well done - you took my next pick - those are three great MacKenzie courses!
Jim - Nice work there as well - surprised that Alison's great work in Japan lasted this long.

I have a meeting in a few so I'll throw out my three just in case Mr Lyon takes one -

1. Hanse -Castle Stuart, Rustic Canyon, Boston Golf Club
2. Hackett - Carne, Eniscrone, Waterville (I need some links courses)
3. AV Macan - Cal Club, Royal Colwood, Shaughnessy GC

No draft is complete without boo birds...so like Jets fans at an NFL draft, here are the picks I dont like:

#1  Boo.  Kovich taking Shinny as a Macdonald course. Sure, he worked there, but come on, you can't choose between Piping Rock, St.Louis and Mid Ocean to have a true Macdonald course with the number two overall pick?   Todd Marinivich-like pick. BOOOOO!

#2 Boo. Dell Sims taking Raynor but not including Fishers Island in his top 3 courses. I am not saying Hakeem and Bowie weren't good players...But Raynor's Jordan was still on the board! BOOOOOOOO!

#3 Boo. JNC taking both Oak Hill courses with his first two Ross picks. Homer pick! Just kidding :) small boo (nice 2nd rd picks)

#4 Boo. Jay Flemma taking Sleepy Hollow as a Tillinghast course when there were so many great PURE Tilly courses on the board. haven't seen a pick like that since the Giants took Rocky Thompson and passed on Jack Tatum! BOOOOO!

Tim,

That price is only slightly less than what I actually pay to play it in real life.  I guess I've shown my cards so it's difficult to expect you not to try to rake me over the coals.

Jim,

Are we going to get an official ruling on Shinnecock now that several of us have protested that it really isn't a CBM course?

I mean if we're going to allow somethting like that, these selections will turn into utter chaos!!   ;D

I guess my next pick will be Arnold Palmer and I'll be taking Pebble Beach because he re-did a few bunkers..  ;)

I thought I was pretty clear with the ground rules.  I said if a guy is listed on one of those sites then he is good to go.  I'm not saying that said sites are definitive, I just put them together so we'd have a common set of rules.  I said multiple times that I didn't want it to escalate into who did what.  Start another thread or take it up with the guys at top100courses.

If a guy is eligible based on the criteria, you can pick him.  The original Shinny pick stands.  Yours does not.  Sorry.

Bill - CBM may not have done a lot of work on Shinny as it relates to the place today, but he DID do work there, and that is why its a great "FANTASY" pick!... I had a good strategy and apparently it is working!
