I'm thinking about Paul Cowley's new course in Cabo.  Especially after reading Greg Tallman's posts.  I'm in the mood for some rock n roll on the driving range, downing a couple of those Kobe Sliders with a Modelo then heading out to play golf in the warm Mexican sun.

It's too damp and gloomy in my neck of the woods to think of any of the great local places, might not even be the kind of day I'd go as far south as Merion/Pine Valley.

I'll say Riviera.

Maybe Royal Melbourne if the question assumes that a genie transports me there and I don't have to take an airline ::)

I would say St. Andrews Beach, now that it's open again for a while.  (Who knows how long?)

I'm happy to be on pretty much any first tee, but Cypress would easily be my #1, regardless of weather.  [NB:  I haven't played Cypress, but from the pictures and comments I can't imagine a better place to be.]

The Jockey Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Late October and early November are a  beautiful time of year in Buenos Aires, with spring in the air and the colorful Jacaranda trees in full bloom.

Cypress is possibly THE single worst first tee in the world of golf to wish yourself upon.

The other 17 and 1/2 holes do kinda make up for it though! ;)

Machrihanish is the most sphincter-tighteningly first tee ever. I LOVE it!!! Here is properly true 'strategic' golf. Pick the line that you think YOU can make and hit it well. Heaven!!!

It's hard to beat a fall afternoon at TCC in brookline when the leaves are at their peak in changing, the air is brisk, and the long rough gets that yellow hue.
