That looks like the track of the four-legged gas powered garden variety ATV, found worldwide, sadly. 


..or a Duro HF236 commercial turf tire.

  Exactly Bill. I was playing with 3 scitish golfers,when we walked by those divots one of them said.."Americans". Two were former caddies. Do we take more practice swings?

It is not a golf car....and I am not sure they are all made by the same golfer....

  Jim,

  Excellent observation. There were no other divots within 10 feet of those. I had the same thought. My home private club holds tournaments on mondays at times and you see the same thing.

I do not believe it is anything really sinister like a cart but one-step down, perhaps it’s a quod bike for the grounds men with treads like that.

Could even be your push/pull trolley. Maybe Aliens from Mars or do I agree with you an American Cart Baller come to learn how to play walking golf, who knows, but did you enjoy the rest of the course being a more interesting question

I would have taken the comment as referring to the execrable modern practice of leaving cluster divots in every fairway. If playing in Scotland, I'd venture that it's a pretty fair guess to attribute it to visit Americans.

On the next hole Baaaabara, longtime friend  ;) of the former wisecracking caddie, was rather miffed that he woudn't even give her a nod in public......



.....this so upset the poor deer darling that she decided to end it all........

 

....a sad tale, but some compassion was shown for our caddie and he was given a remembrance of her after the burial.
