36 holes with my son, 11, at the home course Battenkill CC.  1:20 minute 9's, nothing but smiles, nothing but laughs.
The trouble with modern equipment and distance—and I don't see anyone pointing this out—is that it robs from the player's experience. - Mickey Wright

Many come to mind:

Newport / Brookline - two founding USGAClubs in one day
Merion/ Aronimick
Upper / Lower at Baltusrol
Brookline/ Myopia Hunt
Monterey Peninsula (Dunes)/ Cypress Point
National Golf Links/ Shinnecock
Friars Head/ Maidstone
But 36 at Sand Valley with some guy from NO was pretty special

Sorry for a "final" addition but I don't think anyone had this one and they are only a few miles apart. Also; the renovation over the last several years at Piping Rock coupled with Tom's work at The Creek makes this really spectacular:

My Dad would have turned 100 this year. We only took one golf trip and that came when he was 80. We didn't play 36 in one day but played Kingsley and Crystal Downs on two successive days in early October. It is one of my great golf/Dad memories.

2 on my recent trip to Scotland

North Berwick - had the pleasure of playing with three members in the morning and then was paired up with some fellow Australians in the afternoon. Great weather, great company, great course, my wife was having a nice day out looking at the puffins and a birdie on the last :-)

St Andrews - managed to play 36 in one day at the old course, a beautiful sunrise at the starters hut and out at 7.30, glorious weather and some ok golf. Managed to get a nice badge on my wedge playing my second off the road. Then back out about 3 without a caddy and a father and daughter pair. The weather turned nasty and they quit after 9 so I had the surreal experience of playing all by myself, no caddy on the old course. Got absolutely soaked, got to 2 under through 12 and hung on for a couple over. The wind howled - I hit a 6 iron into the 5th for my second and a 3 iron into 18! A day I will never forget.

I really enjoy playing 36 in a day particularly on the same course - it gives you a sense of the place that a quick once around just doesn't give you.

Played 54 at Machrihanish this June with my son. He won the first 18 one up, halved the second 18, and i won the third two up. Machrihanish is a great walk that I would be happy playing every day, definitely meets all fun criteria, and when you finish the first 18 you want to immediately go out for more.

About 15 years ago I was able to engineer a Springdale vs Merion interclub match at Merion.   Two foursomes each.

18 holes AM
lunch
18 holes PM
libations

Afternoon - my best Merion round to date - 77.   Beat my friend and host Double D.

As Phil Connors would say  " That was a pretty good day".   Wouldn't mind repeating that !
