Phil,
I probably should have used 'could' instead of 'would'. As for the pine straw shot, trying to hit a delicate chip from it can present problems. Make contact with the ground an inch behind the ball and the ball might not be in the same place it was when you started your swing. Not being able to ground the club can result in a thinned shot, using a wedge can be fatal. It's an each to his own proposition.

I also think that the combination of the trees, the straw, and the downhill shot to the green are enough.
