Joe, I've stayed at a place called The Berystede just outside of Ascot.  It's 5 to 10 minutes from Sunningdale (2 minutes to Swinley).  The photos make it look a little nicer than it is, but I think it was reasonably priced and adequate.

The local boys may have some better recommendations.

Sorry Joe, Locals are the last people to ask.

If you haven’t been to Windsor I would head for there.  It’s a tourist trap but you’ll find a bunch of places to eat and a walk round the centre of town after dinner will please almost anyone.

Try and see if this offers you a deal.

15-20 mins to Sunningdale.

The Riviera, in Maidenhead is a bit of an upgrade over your average B&B, located on the Thames just west of Windsor. Short walk into town for refreshments, although the food at the hotel was very good. Just minutes away from Heathrow.

Hi Joe
Not sure of budget but there are loads of cheap to expensive hotels nearby. Best hotel is Pennyhil Park in Bagshot - about 5 minutes in the car - will be pricey.

Coppid Beach in Binfield is near me (Wokingham). Decent modern hotel with healthclub and about £85 per room for a twin including breakfast. About 15-20 minutes to Sunningdale and they have a Beer Keller pub and a grab-a-granny disco (or at least it used to be a few years ago)!!

Joe,

I've stayed and put people up at the Hillside B&B near Worplesdon easy to get to from WH and Sunningdale. Up market B&B with very good food.

Joe

Map the route from Sunningdale to Deal.

Given London traffic, it might ve better to base closer to WH and commute to Sunningdale.

In other words, I suggest you let the drive dictate where you stay so that as John Gielgud said you don't end up on the wrong side of Kent.

Good luck!

Mark,

BUDA doesn't start 'til Tuesday.  Deal really would be the wrong side on Kent on Monday, when we're all going to be at Littlestone...
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Wentworth is two miles up the road and the beautiful clubhouse has several rooms available
