Walker Cup TV Schedule
« on: September 11, 2009, 02:06:36 PM »
It is going to be on the Golf Channel at midnight on Saturday and Sunday.  It will look pretty spectacular on a large high resolution TV.

If it is broadcast in HD, it sure will be.  I've not gotten confirmation yet that it will be in HD.

Is that Eastern Time?  I looked at the Golf Channel schedule and it doesn't say.

Is there any other besides Eastern?   ;)

Well yes, there are Pacific, Mountain and Central.  And Atlantic if you live in Canada.  No where on that Golf Channel list do I see "ET" or anything to indicate what time.  Maybe they are all the same!

Thanks - FWIW I would rather be in Philadelphia - contrary to W. C. Fields' tombstone!

Bill,
I am in Philadelphia.
WC Fields

The closing ceremonies are estimated for 5:30 EDT.

Lotta heavy rain last night and today. some puddling in low spots but greens and bunkers looked very playable. I thought walkin the course would be a slog, but it is very firm considering the last 4 hours. Opening ceremonies under a tent. Rabble had to stand outside in the wind driven rain with no view.

If you think the USGA does rabble well, you'd have loved the R&A at County Down.  They had a marquee (tent) for this and another for that.  There was one nice big tent for the rabble but it was not good value for money!

But it's still my favorite spectator golf event, even better than the Open Championship.

Sorry about the weather but glad you are there with the reports!

It's on at 1pm for us on the Pacific. It shows as available in HD on my digital schedule for tomorrow, but I don't know if it's true HD or not.

Not HD on Dish...upconverted SD that looks pretty bad on a full screen.  Golf Channel didn't spend the money to have HD cameras there.

Yeah, just caught the end of the broadcast.  Not HD on TimeWarner either.  Too bad - there is a big difference.
