Goswick is a very fine course and well worth a visit if you're on your way to East Lothian. Also in the North East are two good Colt courses, Brancepeth Castle and the Northumberland, both of which are better than some in the GW Top 100.
Kington is a must, easily a top 50 (for fun, at least). For me, Moortown falls well short of Alwoodley and Ganton, but it's a good course and worth a visit if you're playing Alwoodley.
Finally, al;so in Northumberland is Doak dumb blonde, Bamburgh Castle, Not the greatest golf on earth but on a sunny day, beauty to make Pebble look like a village muni.
