On the Castle Stuart thread the other day, one poster asked whether Cabot Links is the next most anticipated course under development for the "educated golfer".  This got me thinking about what have been the great courses opened in the last 3 years (2007, 2008, 2009) and what are the ones that people are really looking forward to in the next 3 years (2010, 2011, 2012)?  Regional perspectives (Americas, UK, Cont. Europe, Asia, Africa, Down Under) would be interesting.
Also, I'm wondering if any of you think that a great one has opened in the last 3 years, but has essentially gone unnoticed by the golf paparazzi (both in the press and on this site)?

Rock Creek this year was special. I am looking forward to Old Macdonald next year.

Henry:

There are lots of courses being built (or just finished) in countries where GCA enthusiasts seldom visit.  When I was last in China, I saw a Weiskopf course on the east coast of Hainan Island that looked like it might be special.  But I have no basis for saying that it will be the best course to open there next year ... there is a lot going on.

Same goes for a lot of Europe, and elsewhere in Asia.

I doubt there are many great new courses in the USA (or Australia) which have been completely overlooked on this site.  Underrated, perhaps, but that's subjective.
