OK Sean, here you go...

Michigan Top Ten Courses in no order:

The Heather at Boyne Highlands
Battle Creek Country Club
The Gailes at Lakewood Shores
Crystal Downs
Belvedere
Hidden River
Kingsley Club
Elk Ridge
Lochenheath
(not allowed to list it, but you should know what it is)

On another note, I continue to be amazed at the love some courses get in these lists, especially here.  To each his own, but it seems that marketing works even on the locals...

Cenci,

We need to drink more and argue over your list =)  PRESSS!!!!

Cheers!

Ah yes, an experiment which didn't quite come off, but I am hoping it still might.  I have an interesting "best of" list organized and blurbs from a few people, but I need the remaining participants (they know who they are) to forward blurbs to complete this experiment.

Ken- great to see Hampshire on a list!  Anyone who has lived in SW Michigan or NW Indiana and loves golf knows about Hampshire.  It is top ten or anything- no way.  But a pretty darn good golf course and really fun to play.  Thanks for bringing back some great memories.  I coached high school golf for 4 years in that area, and both enjoyed watching some good hs players struggle with some of the holes there, and really enjoyed playing the course myself.

Hampshire is near and dear to my heart-I lost in a 2 man, 6 hole playoff for medalist honors, in the Reginal finals my senior year in high school. The player on lost to went on to play on the Nationwide Tour.
