Ulrich's bridge is very similar to those at Columbia CC outside Washington DC.

I really liked the simple bridges at Olympia Fields.  The recent Flossmoor pictorial illustrated a similar bridge, though also a Swilcan Burn copy which looked far inferior to the OF style, in its setting.

In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Mark Pearce,

The bridges at OFCC, both North and South were manufactured by our company, Gooder-Henrichsen Co. back in the mid 1960's.  Our previous company president, Robert M. Gooder, was President of Olympia Fields from '68-'69.  His name is inscribed on a placque on the bridge in front of the seventh tee.  I always cross this particular bridge with great pride.  I too love the bridges beacause of their beautiful, efficient, and easily fabricated design.  Quite elegant in all respects.  Plus they are obviously well built enduring 40+ years of use.

Nice Bridges but boring course. A typical RTJ2 design. Not horrible but nothing special. Take away the couple of holes with the bridges and the clubhouse and you have a pretty average golf course.

The name of The Bridge in Bridgehampton has no genesis in an actual "bridge" and I don't believe they have one on the property - at least, not that I can remember.

So why did I put up this post?

Because somebody might actually have a picture of a bridge at The Bridge!
