I can't find the pic, but I had one of a 40' flatbed trailer being used as a bridge.

There can only ever be one - The Swilken Bridge

All others just don't hold a candle to The Swilken Bridge over the little Swilken Burn St Andrews

Who wants to pose for a photo on any other bridge, they just do not have the same 'Magic'

I played the Country Club of Sapphire Valley up in Cashiers NC Saturday.  They have two beautiful wooden covered bridges there.  I didn't have my camera and would have taken a photo, they were lovely.

There are huge numbers of surplus cargo containers today - I'll bet you could take a 40'er and dress it up with wood exterior and create a neat "covered bridge" at pretty low cost today.  They would have similar design strength to rail cars although maybe not as long.

I wouldn't call it a "good" picture, but the bridges at Punta Ala are certainly crusty ;-)

While I don't have a picture of it.

RCCC has a really neat suspension bridge that crosses a ravine from 13 tee to 13 fairway....very nicely done!!

At Pine Valley, English architect Charles Alison recommended a floating or pontoon bridge to get golfers across the pond on the long par 5 15th hole. PVGC opted for a normal bridge to the left followed by the rather long "nature walk" to get golfers from the 15th tee to the fairway.

At my club, GMGC (Ross 1916) golfers originally got across the pond on the 6th hole in a rowboat!  ;)

Lost Tracks in Bend, OR uses an old railroad car as a bridge to the island green on the 16th hole. Golfers have left several hundreds of bagh tags hanging inside the relic.

http://www.oregongolf.com/lost_tracks/main.htm has the picture if you click on the photo gallery and look at the 16th hole.

Someone must have a photo of the bridge on the island hole at Lost Tracks up near Bend, Oregon....

Not as much a bridge, as it is an old railway car in which everyone hangs their bag tags from their home course...

I thought it was extremely cool!!!
