How do you post images?

Does it require a personal website?

Tom,

It simply requires that the image be on the Internet.

There are plenty of free ones...I use www.flickr.com and it's very easy to upload pics from your pc.

Once it's there, you just put the appropriate brackets around it and hit enter and Voila!..

Or, if it's something you have urgent, you can email it to me and I'll present it.

Hope this helps

Tom,

It took me until a wek ago to figure it out.All that means is that I am quite technologically-challenged!

I joined photobucket (free of charge) and have begun placing images there. With each image you then can access the "IMG Code" by simply clicking on it.

For example, my picture on the Shawnee thread of the Punchbowl green in 1914 has the following IMG Code: http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/oo90/PhiltheAuthor/Shawneepunchbowl7-1914.jpg

The only thing missing, which will become apparent when you see the code for your images, is that before and after this code, the following is also included [IMG]http://. All you have to do is paste the IMG Code into the body of your comments when you are typing them up and the photo will automatically be included.

Honestly, you'll have no problem doing it.

Here is an example of what you need to type:

Code: [Select]

When you are entering your message, you will see a bunch of icons above.  Click on this image:

It's in the second row of square icons, second from the left; it will insert the stuff in the brackets for you.

To post a link:

Code: [Select]
http://whatever.server.com/abc/123.html

If a pic is on the internet already, right click on it and click on "properties". The image URL will be in the properties. Just paste that URL (web address) here with img in front of it and /img after it, but with both sets of code inside square brackets.

Tom,

Make sure to use Photobucket...its the easiest to use in my experience.

1)  Create an account
2)  Upload photo.
3)  Hover and click on the box just below the pic, and click on the box that's titled "img code".
4)  Copy the link provided and paste into GCA.com post

Voila!!
