NBC was interviewing Mike Davis and the quote from Mike "The USGA is a not-for profit entity".  I almost choked on my lunch laughing - The USGA is a not for profit like the Catholic Church or the Salvation Army (very different NFP's)?

It's a 501(c)(3). Most sports organizations are nonprofits, including the PGA Tour (a 501(c)(6)). Fascinating reading for when someone cries poor.
