I have tried to find something of interest at Denver City Park, but I just don't see it. Perhaps I need an education from Mr. Iverson. To me, it's a Doak 2, perhaps a 3 if I'm being charitable. There are a few challenging greens, although mostly in the sense that they have a severe back to front tilt--there are few internal contours. The land is . . . uninspiring. It reminds me of the rather bland municipal courses I grew up playing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa--not too much more than a sparsely treed, generally flat field with some flagsticks stuck in the ground--and, while there's a place for that sort of golf, it doesn't do much for me.
Among municipal courses in Colorado, Murphy Creek and Breckenridge would be better choices.
