Exmoor (Tweedie / Ross) Chicago
« on: July 06, 2009, 01:20:46 PM »
Is anyone familliar with this layout near Lake Michigan. are the Golden Age greens still intact ?   Is the course primarily a flattish meadow, or do some hills and  elevation changes liven things up ?

thanks

I used to play there quite a bit when I was younger, and have only seen it once since the renovation. Shivas explained the overview of the course pretty well, but I don't find it in the same league as Skokie, and think it's slightly above the plethora of average tree lined country clubs on the North Shore of Chicago.

Shivas and Pat,

Thanks for your replies. In your opinion is nearby Lake Shore  more fun to play, or full of better green complexes than Exmoor

thanks

I would rather play Exmoor than Lake Shore. LS has a couple good holes around a ravine that cuts the property in two, but there are a lot of boring holes there to play through to get to them.
