First of all, the cart is from a different group!!! I would not dare ride in a cart on such hallowed ground!  Well done Peter, it is indeed National #10. This was the most obsure picture I took. This was my first time there, and I am still in awe..

If that was me, the cart would be burning with the 7th Cavalry charging behind trying to stop the 'Warrior with Skirt' and his little dirk tucked into his socks (you call yours what you like, mines called dirk).

On those long, extra long courses, I have had to spend a few nights campeing out on the course waiting to be asked to play through by a group of North Americans hell bent on getting their carts to the Greens. To pass a way the time I have spent many a happy hour playing with my wee dirk, much to the annoyance of my wife. But a Man has got to do what a Man has got to do Right?

No, it was not me this time. God, close though, thought I was about to get caught that time.

OK, a couple more:

tee shot on #1 (235 for a wedge to the coolest green, wish I took a picture but I was trying to make my 10 footer for birdie...I left it on the lip)



Best Redan on this side of the pond...The caddies told all of NOT to aim at the pin, 3 guys before each went at the pin an ended up in the bunker on the left. I hit a perfect shot that just stayed up top, and I got greedy trying to make birdie and my downhill putt trickled 18 feet past the hole...

It's a trick question.  I've never been there, but I believe the green is hidden atop/behind the hill to the left, directly above the mid-sized
bunker part-way up the hill, complete with several hidden bunkers in front of the green.

Thanks Scott. I see it now.  I love this hole even more now that I see it's real routing.

I've never played here, but my friend's father is a member at Baltusrol and WF and all he talks about is how he could play NGLA everyday for the rest of his life and nowhere else. 

NGLA is definitely in my top 5 to see before my golfing days are behind me.

This is just a SUPERB hole. I played safe with a 3-wood so as not to reach the two bunkers on the left and right side of the fairway about 250 off the tee. Problem was, my safe 3-wood left me 200 and I had to go over the hill. I could just not force myself to hit my approach left enough...and I ended up in that deep bunker pictured above. I made a GREAT sand shot and got away with a bogie.

The other thing about this hole is that it followed to short par 4's. Macdonald lets you hit less than driver on these two, but if you are going to par #3, you must hit driver and challenge those bunkers. Just one example ofthe genius of this place.

The only negative about playing there is that I realized that today's equipment allowed me to fly over many of the features that Macdonald put in place. That mad me  a little sad.
