I was at the tourney on Saturday.  Gosh, I would love to have the money made on beer sales for just a single minute of that day anytime between 11 AM and closing!  I might be able to retire off of it.  ;)

I've never seen so many two-fisted drinkers in one place.  With the vast majority of them being young males.  Not allow alcohol sales and I think much of the rowdy behavior disappears.

Haven't spent much time in the Burgh, have you? :)

Carl, I think the number would be closer to zero than 5...

On it's own merit, I think it'd be a great matchplay course, but I'd probably play 7 as a par-five. Is there a converted par-five on the back?

But yeah, the spectators might kill each other.

With 40 minute lines to get a beer who isn't going to buy an extra once they get to the front?!?

For those who are not aware, there is a New York area club that has approached the PGA about the 2024 Ryder Cup...

Where would the follow-up match be... on the pitch at Old Trot?

Phil,

Since you said "club" and not "course" my guess is Winged Foot.

Steve,

Your reasoning is incorrect. A Club applies for hosting an event and offers one (or more) of its courses for this privilege. We just saw an example of that with the U.S. Open. It was awarded to Bethpage State Park for play on its Black Course.

Not that it was or wasn't Winged Foot, but the club itself could offer itself for play and specify which of its courses should be used...

In other words, it could be a single-course golf club or multiple-course club...

Sorry, as I won't reveal it either at this point...

Phil,

When you say club, I take that to mean a private club. I don't consider Bethpage State Park  to be a"club" in the manner in which that term is commonly used in the golf world. BSP is a public venue with 5 golf courses. WF is a private club.

Steve,

If it makes you feel better it was a "private" club...

Steve:

There is a Jersey "club" to consider too !

Hint: hosts the 2016 PGA Championship.

Phil,

I "feel" much better now.  ;D

Matt,

Are the initials of that NJ club "Baltusrol?"  ;D
