I know there was a recent thread about Inniscrone but since the search function here hasn't been working this week, here is an article on the recent acquisition of Inniscrone by London Grove Twp. and the new management team:

Steve - This is surely good news !  I have always liked Inniscrone because of that memory factor we discuss on here time and time again.  We had a GCA get together there, and Gil was with us along with Kittleman.  Can't remember the year, but it was a good introduction by two golfing greats.

The again GAP, Golf Association of Philadelphia, had us out there for one of its tourneys, and he players had various comments - good and bad.  Most of the bad was where troubles hit his round, like the split par four.

The article mentions that the purchase price was "attractive".  $780,000 seems incredibly cheap for the land, 280 acres in essentially suburban Philadelphia/Wilmington.  Throw in a golf course and it seems absurdly cheap.  I know and have little interest in course financing but doesn't a typical higher end course run $3-5 million or so?  Is this not a steal?  It seems to me that is so cheap as to be unbelievable.

Cliff:  Could this be some takeover by the town for back taxes ?  Then leased out to the group ?  Agree, it does seem to be a steal, but what doesn't in this day and age ?
