Pretty interesting read on how they've adjusted in this ecomomy.  Design fees interesting too, though not sure how accurate.

I'd be willing to bet the design fees are more accurate than the amount of work some declared.

Its too bad that keeping costs down is just now becoming important. It seems like this should always have been one of the architects main jobs. Maybe a round of golf would not be so expensive if this had been the mindset a decade ago.

Good point Will.

I like this quote from 1928 by an ODG in a book I just re-read, "We displaced much of the excessive cost of manual labor by the comparatively speaking low cost of mental labor."

It certainly applies today. I think the smart designers (and their team) will thrive in this 'new' phase of GCA and development.
