Mike,

I would love to see his business plan.

Are you saying that he will halt the driving range while some kids "play" the individual holes?  Or or you going to net part of the range to allow for some simultaneous play?

I've said this too many times already, but what I think is most wonderful about Wolf Point is that Mike and Don refused to buy into the rhetoric about what makes for a 'great site' or the conventional wisdom regarding the challenges of a 'flat site'.

...and that they built it for HALF of their client's budget!

Maybe on a tuesday afternoon the kids will go out and play a hole once a month or during spring break.
Little linksters has some certification process.
It is a range first and foremost - no separate netting.

He does have a bunch of Golden Tees and today I played 4-9 at Pebble on the indoor hi-def simulator - pretty fun.
I like breaking the 9 windows on the old castle best - ala Tiger's warehouse window commercial.

Cheers

All I have seen are the pictures. But from those I would judge this to be a great great American golf course. This was a piece of land that might have been gouged and mounded, but it appears to have been kept very close to it's original terrain. I just love the below grade bunkering and the way the greens flow.

Craig,
   Thanks for the link.

Mike and Don,
Congratulations on your success with Wolf Point.

Please tell me there will be at the minimum a cooler full of beer.  I think I've got a new home away from home.  I'll definitely be by to say hi and check things out.

Don:

You should work for Mike Keiser sometime.

(On second thought, no -- you keep your clients and I'll keep mine!) ;)

It would be great to see what Mike can do on another project - WP is a very high bar to set your first time out.

I'm looking forward to the practice facility that he will be working on down the street from my house.  I wish it was a new course, but it will be nice to have nonetheless.

From Mike's blog...

For some reason I think you and I will be spending a lot of time there.  :D

Houston has been lacking in decent practice facilities and the fact that this is 5-10 min from work and a mile from Champions makes it all the better.

I can confirm that it does look better in print as some excellent photographs accompany the article. The magazine was sat waiting for me when I got back from Portugal at the weekend.  Unfortuntately I've only had chance to skim read it so far.

Many congratulations Mike.
2014 to date: not actually played anywhere yet!
Still to come: Hollins Hall; Ripon City; Shipley; Perranporth; St Enodoc
