There were some that couldn't stay until the very end of the KP, so I wanted to make a few remarks. To those that have already heard them, I apologize for my repeating myself.

I wanted to thank everyone for the kind words about Robert and I's efforts for this event. It was quite an experience organizing something like this and alot of work, but worth the effort. Robert went above and beyond the call of duty, particulary in regards to the creation of the website. It was totally his idea and he did a great job. In addition, his organizing of the scoring format was top notch. He had that running like a well oiled machine. And the choice of Holdrens for Sat night was a homerun. Great food, as I'm sure we would all agree. Well done, pards.

Also, I wanted to thank Tom for his advice for the event and his tremendous presentation of Ojai Valley Inn. It is a setting near and dear to his heart and I've learned alot from him in regards to the history of that great place. Well done Tom. You are and will always be the Emperor!

In addition, I want to thank Joe Perches for his very gracious gesture in providing the GCA hats to the attendees. They are very well done, Joe. Thank you again!

Congrats to Lou for the events most memorable shot. However, I can't say it surprises me. Great shot, Lou! I wish I could've seen it!

And last but certainly not least, I wanted to thank Mr Peter Wagner for providing his wonderful club for our use. The facilities were unbelievable, the staff fantastic, the food wonderful and the course was in great condition. Peter, you are a prince among men and I wanted to thank you and George (NOW I remember his name ;)) for your hospitality in allowing this nutty crew to come to a very special place that you call home.

No Cal, the ball is firmly in your court and I'm sure you will carry on the tradition with great success. I look forward to attending next year!

I want to add a note of thanks to Peter Wagner for his generosity in setting up a great day at Sherwood Country Club.  The club is spectacular and it was great of Peter to set it up so we could play the course and enjoy the amenities of that spectacular clubhouse on a day when the club is normally closed.  Thanks as well to all the staff who came in on what I'm sure is usually a day off to take care of the itinerant GCA gypsies!

And boy, that course has got to be Nicklaus' #1 ballbuster - and ball loser!  It was all anyone could ask for as a challenge with a number of forced carries -- does #6 intimidate anyone? -- but beautiful in a lovely setting.

Thanks, Peter.

And thanks to David and Robert for a top notch Kings Putter.  Soule Park and Rustic Canyon were both in fine condition and fun golf courses.

Looking forward to seeing what Huckaby & Co. come up with for 2010!

Whoa down.... wait a second here.....

Concur with all the kudos for David and Robert... and that was a very heart-felt note there David.. well said my friend....

However....

While I too agree with this:

No Cal, the ball is firmly in your court and I'm sure you will carry on the tradition with great success. I look forward to attending next year!

I sure as heck do not agree with this:

Looking forward to seeing what Huckaby & Co. come up with for 2010!

I have done my time, several times over.  Someone else needs to step up. Was it not discussed on-site, as it usually is? Do we really have no volunteers?

OK, I have some ideas and I could be an absentee organizer... but absentee I must be at best, given I can say right now there's no way in hell I can devote 3-4 days to this next spring (that is be there for all of it)... thus the hope someone else steps up....

Note also you SoCals set a pretty impossibly high bar to match, also.  We have no Soule or Rustic equivalents up here (great courses at low price), nor do we have a Peter Wagner who's gonna give us a great private club to ourselves for a full Monday....

But we shall try to come up with something.  Here's hoping it's not me who has to do the trying....

I had a special treat in the morning round at Sherwood. I was not in a competive match so I was paried with Tommy's friend George who snuck on and Sherwood member and friend of Peter, George Carney. George Carney prooved to be a fine gentelman golfer and his information about the course, community, members, and the annual tournament was a highlight of my day. You may remember him as the man that came by with the refreshments. If you are watching...Thanks a thousand George. You are a good man.

David:
On behalf of David and me - Thanks to you and Robert for a great event.  Robert had everything organized to a T.  It was definitely worth the trip from Boston.

Also a very big thank you to Peter Wagner for arranging Sherwood.  What a fantastic place.

Huckaby come on you can step up again.  Let's go back to Pajaro Valley :D

Best
Dave
