John - Does Jordan play the same aggressive style of golf when he is sharing a ball?

Has anyone ever looked more irritated than that after making a hole in one?

As Lou's anchor (perhaps more appropriately, dead-weight) for the
morning alternate shot, I happily didn't have play a shot that hole.

Lou, given his advancing wisdom but unfortunately declining vision,
was denying the fact the ball went in the hole.  The forecaddy was
giving the football umpire field-goal "good" sign, whooping, and
clapping.  Yet Lou still denied.

It was a pretty shot too, a dead straight 5 wood from the tips, 230
or so slightly downhill.  Struck the green maybe 8 feet on and rolled
in.

I think Lou was denying because he hoped to avoid the bar tab.
Post round was generously provisioned by the organizers though.

Only slightly less accomplished was the 5 wood he hit to the back
left pin on 15 from where I left him under the tree from 210 or so.

Thick grass, high draw, easy shot to 8 feet.

I don't think Lou is selling that club on ebay anytime soon.

Thanks to David and Robert for organizing, and Peter Wagner for
opening Sherwood to the GCA nutters.

Absolutely.  And he encouraged me to do the same thing.  Overall I think we let each other down about evenly.  Jordan was nice enough to run a fifteen footer 7 feet past, while I would shove a tee shot into the hazard.  And so on.  To lose 7 & 5, lots has to go wrong.  But Pete & Tony teamed up very well.

Phil & Tiger might have been a worse pairing in this format, but just barely.   ;D  Still, I hope we get a chance to try teaming up again.  I think we would have fared a little better at Rustic than Sherwood.

Tim,

My friend, John and I had boxing gloves out on the tenth.  It was quite a spectacle.

HOWEVER... we hugged it out and all was well.

Mentally, we won.

My favorite shots from Sherwood...

4th tee:

10th approach - a great short par 4. The tee shot requires a great distance control and placement depending on where the pin is located:

12th tee shot (there were some BIG bass swimming around in that pond):

13th green looking back:

Looking back on the closer at Sherwood CC. The peak viewed at the right edge of this photo should be familiar to some from the opening sequence of the T.V. show “M.A.S.H.”

I bet every wife for 100 miles was locked away with such a bunch of hot blooded guys in town. I thought I'd hit a more specialist site upon seeing "guys locker room action" pictures.

As CEO of Buda 2009 every picture we post off the golf course will have a ratio of two ladies to one chap!!

Looking at this photo of Peter and Tommy standing beside each other reminded me the time spent at Sherwood was a perfect "10".

Richard,

Goodness gracious, where on earth was the Dress Code Tsar? I am surprised, shocked and stunned at those hats at Soule Park.

Bob, I know it's no excuse, but in the second photo I had my hat on just for a moment there because as you can tell, there was no place to put it without it getting stepped on. I promise you it was off when I walked in and off when I got off the bench there. Please forgive my faux pas. ;)

  Bob,

From the looks of my flaming red nose you can assume I did not wear a hat indoors or outdoors. At Rustic Canyon I thought I smelt a brush fire on the 13th hole only to realize that my nose had caught on fire.

Can we get some names to go along with the pictures???  Always nice to put a face to a name here on GCA.com...funny how you automatically "picture" someone who you've never seen before and how off you can be sometimes when you finally meet them or see a pic.

George, from left to right on the first one, Christian Spaulding, The Emperor, Gray and Jon Spaulding.

On the second, Lynn Shackelford on the left and Steve Pieracci on the right.
