The writeup does say that the fairway is contoured to funnel the ball towards the green, though it doesn't look like there's much of a fairway, and it has some trees to avoid.
I think based on the terminal velocity being only 70 mph (see Matt Cohn's post) that the worries about embedding the ball in the green are overblown. 70 mph is about what you'd get off a shot hit with a 55-60 mph clubhead speed. Think about skulling a half wedge from a bunker, that's probably leaving the face at 70 mph. You sure don't want to be hit by it but it would take a pretty soft bunker lip for the ball to embed in it.
