King's Putter -- Let the excuses begin!
« on: March 28, 2009, 10:55:30 AM »
Okay, I'll be first:

I won't be able to play to my handicap because: I have a pulled ribcage muscle and gallstones (seriously). Wedge shots and short irons I can make with little to no problem, but a swing with a longer club makes me feel like I'm being stabbed, and I can only hit driver about 230 to 240 right now due to the necessity of a ridiculously short, more compact swing.

I hope we're not playing the tips at Sherwood! LOL!

David,

How can I pull a muscle and get gallstones so that I can drive it 230 yards? Please advise.

My car was stolen.  I got the car back soon, but all my golf equipment was stolen out of the trunk.  So all new clubs, does this earn me a few extra shots?

Maybe they will let you play off your normal handicap instead of the 5 you played like last year!

Bob - I had the exact same thought regarding "only" hitting it 240.

My group at home gives all putts within one club length, that's why I went with the longest putter I could find.

Those liberals have taken some of my hard earned strokes and redistributed them to people who don't work on their game. I need them back.

I've been taking tuba lessons lately, and haven't been able to play much golf.

I have no excuses other than continual ineptitude; golf being one of many fronts this comes into play in my life.

I suck again.

That's what I was going to say.  In my case ... I continue to suck since the last KP.

Anyone need a caddy?  I'd probably be much better at that.

Sad.  But.  True.

This kind of chatter usually takes place on the first tee, not in cyberspace ;D

I don't suck as badly as what you witnessed at the last KP, which was shockingly horrid. I just hope this year's gathering won't make an amplification of my golf-related shortcomings a part of the tradition.

Suck it up man. I have faith. Nor Cal needs us!

I'm playing so badly I'm likely to be the last picked odd-man-out.  I'm expecting to head up and solo the CentralCal team!!

My drives are shorter than usual.  Must be because I normally play in Arizona where the air is dry and the fairways are firm and a little higher elevation.  Really.
