GCAtube.com ??

Dan and some others have posted some videos recently. Just curious what people think of video as a presentation of GCA.

Too much information? How long?

How could video best be used in golf presentations in general and gca specific?

Thoughts from Supers and others?

Peaceful Old Head Picture:

While not much of a video - this one gives a sense of the experience of playing the course in light wind:

I think they both have positives.

To me, a well crafted photograph is a thing of art, where the videos tend to convey the sense of being there.

GCAtube is a fantastic idea.

Remember when Ian posted those videos on his site explaining his design ideas?  That was very cool and most enjoyable to watch and listen to.

Those videos of TD and Mr. Keiser playing at Old Mac were great as well.

But my favorite to date are Joe B's videos from Tom Paul's barn last Christmas.  I swear I'm driving up for the next one if at all possible.

A nice hybrid would be Photosyth, where you can splice various pictures together to create a 3D world. It could work pretty nicely to create 3D walking tour of golf courses using pictures we have taken.

note to self... I gotta learn how to download videos and then put them on U-Tube or where ever.  I think I'll do that right after I buy a color television.  ::) :-\ ;D
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

I agree if one can resist becoming a tube star while making the production.

My friend Colin Sheehan and I have started a website that will show videos on golf course design, construction and maintenance. We hope that the treehouse will like it. If any of you have video that you think would be of interest to the greater golfing world we would be happy to host it. Just get in contact through the site.

Dick thinks the term "crank it up" means spinning a 78 on the Victrola..... ;D
