They got a real estate buy-out deal that was evidently so good they couldn't refuse shortly after opening.

But the reason they took that real estate offer was b/c they were already in a bad situation financially.  The clubhouse drained them dry.  It was huge.

the clubhouse remained in use for many years after the club moved.  i know many people who attended functions there, and it was used as a satelite campus for temple university for several years.
