I don't know where it is at first glance ... but it doesn't look like any of the cities which are always nominated for having the best group of courses.

I just meant "capital" in the sense of quantity not quality.  My first thought was that poverty = bunker deprivation, but these are private clubs with plenty of cheap labor, so I don't think that explains it.

Wonder if every megacity in the Third World would qualify?

Hint: City was dramatically affected by events of Sept. 11.

G--- g----, S---- W-----.  B-- t-- p------ s---- l------- a-- l--------!

So, why so few bunkers?  Is it something to do with the soil?

Guy, that is an excellent hint, as befits a man whose avatar is a grainy Sasquatch!

Better fill it in before I forget, myself -- or is that "before I forget myself":

"But the picture shows latitude and longitude!"  Too lazy to wipe the coordinates from the screen captures...

Mark,

There seems to be quite a few bunkers on all those courses. Are you saying that they are basic is form, or not as many as you expected?

Andrew,

These courses, as a whole, appear to my eye as having fewer bunkers than one would find on a similar number of courses selected from another (randomly chosen) city.

Where is it?  I could guess, but I don't feel like it.

astavrides, you win the Jean-Paul Parodi Too Lazy/Busy Award.  And the prize is satisfaction: Santiago, Chile.

One of the most beautiful settings of any city in the world.  That is, on the rare day it's not smogged in.

Marco

I'm not too lazy/busy to take the time to solve the 9/11 clue.  Good one!
