My favorite picture is of the 9 holes in Realp, Switzerland. It's not necessarily the prettiest picture I took, but it is unique, because when you look at it you really don't see the course. There's a village and the holes are scattered all over the place, one here, one there - really one of the most interesting routings I have ever seen.

The first fairway is the flat spot in the middle, then you go up the mountain in the left background, play alongside it towards the street in the front and then over it onto the hill in the right center, which has the rocky outcrops on its right side and then for the final hole a drop shot down that hill back to the flat spot in the middle.

Ed,

I thought some of the best pics I saw this year were those you posted of Carolina GC.

The hole pics were excellent, but they also illustrated and told a story of transformation that appears to be nothing short of phenomenal (without having seen it in person).

I played the course some in the mid-80's, and again in the mid-90's, and the changes/improvements shown in your pics will definitely motivate me to get back out there next time I am in the area.

Well done.

Tim,

Thats a cool photo of the fourth at Spyglass.  Remember the guy who holed his second shot from the fairway right in front of us?  Classic reaction and shout.

Great day!

Cheers,
Jordan

18 at Pasa

Again, five hours later, wondering how I just made some thirty foot, ball busting downhill putt.  And how it didn't matter.

Jordan, if I've told you once i've told you a million times, don't exaggerate!  :D

That putt was less than 20'.  I know for sure because I had a 20'er on the same line and then you dunked yours!  Great putt.  ;D

I have posted these before but they are my favorite.  From Brora.

My son finishing his first full 18 with a par on the last for 111 (he had never broken 60 for nine holes before):

My screensaver.  This was around 10:30 or 11 pm and I had a 7:45 Dornoch time the next morning:

Funny last picture Jason.

Either:

A) She's a left-handed cheater (unless there are other tee markers there), or

B) She's right handed and your son is about to learn a hard lesson.

Looks like the club is for lefties...

Not a great photo but a reminder of a great, fun day at Chambers Bay (Aug '08)

I must defend my daughter's honor - there were blue tee markers ahead of the red

This is my favorite picture to appear on this web site in 2008.

Slagbert took it along I-84 traveling between Portland and Walla Walla.
