The befefits of a YLG (young living guy) as your architect
« on: February 23, 2009, 08:15:09 PM »
From the winter notes written by our head greenkeeper:
TREE & WOODS WORK

Numerous trees have been removed from the course over the past few months. Our goals with the tree removal program are to take down dead and diseased trees along with removing trees to open up views and vistas on the course. Any tree removed was done so after consultation with Gil Hanse and his people. Trees were removed on holes # 3 - # 4 - # 6 - # 9 - # 11 - # 12 - # 14 & # 18.

In terms of woods work our efforts here are to open up areas so balls landing in these areas can more easily be found and hopefully advanced. Areas we’ve worked on and cleaned are on holes # 3 - # 6 - # 11 & # 12.

It's SO good to have the great fortune of having the architect actively involved in the course's maintenance!!!

Dan,

I think you highlighted the benefit.....the YLG have "people"!

I think that the proper acronym is YAG (Young Alive Guy) but who would expect a Tonawanda kid to know that?

I'm stoked to see Hanse's work at Taconic next Summer.

Dan,
Yeah, and it's also nice to have a fall guy.  ;)

Jim, pluheeze (I know you're kidding!)

Our head greenkeeper received a standing ovation at our annual meeting this year.

Dan,
Of course, but I couldn't resist after reading the bold in your initial post.  ;D
