18 at PacDunes followed by 18 at Trails and evening golf at The Sheep Ranch (never played but heard that it exists ;)) would be tremendous.

However, like Joe, I am sentimental about Northern Michigan so I would go with morning at Kingsley, lunch outside watching players endure #9, then over to Crystal Downs to play afternoon and evening.

The one time I've played Crystal, our most generous member invited us to his house off of #18 on the bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan.  I'd like to finish the day off at that house drinking endless pints until morning came.

I've been all over the western hemisphere and nothing (in this homer's opinion) is better than northern michigan in summer.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Richard Zokol tells me about what just might be "the perfect day of golf"...

Sometime in the 1990s, Zokol was on Canada's Dunhill Cup team. He arrives at St. Andrews early, on Sunday prior to tournament week. The Old Course is closed on Monday, Dunhill Cup week, to anyone other than competitors.

There were only something like sixteen countries represented, times three men per nation.... a small field. Zokol goes out on Monday for some practice with caddie master, Rick Mackenzie (who's also author of "A Wee Nip at the 19th Hole").

Imagine... no one else shows up to practice that day. Zokol (and Mackenzie) spent more than eight hours practicing on the Old Course without another, single golfer on the course!

How many golfers can make this claim?

There are too many "Perfect Days" to imagine - some inspirational stuff has been shared already.

It is a testament to the game and the great people you meet playing it that there are such endless possibilities.

I'm still looking forward to getting in my first trip to Bandon and walking 36+ a day . . . When the 4 courses get up and running it will qualify for the "perfect week of golf" award, just playing those 4 (+ SR) courses over and over again.

Golfers heaven.

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

I once had Shoreacres all to my lonesome self after being stiffed by a well-known GCAer from that area.  A slight drizzle, 50*, light wind.  Great fun.

Thomas of Huckaby,

I think we've shared a couple of pretty perfect days.

I would have to say for me the "perfect day of golf" starts with seeing these in your headlights.....

And ends with a Southside and this view.

Although I guess for the day to be perfect I would also want to shoot a couple of rounds in the 60s and be invited to join on the spot.

It's February in the Burgh, and I'm thinkin' the perfect day of golf would merely be one warm enough to play...

In my opinion, most of the "perfect" scenarios I can come up with involve playing the same course twice instead of playing two different courses.  This assumes these perfect days are spent playing courses that are once in a lifetime deals.

For instance, I would rather play CPC twice in one day or Pebble Beach twice in one day than play each once - unless I had a critical mass at the two courses.  I'd love to play both in the same day if I had experienced each 10 or so times.  If they were one time shots I'd get more out of spending the entire day at one or the other.  The re-play is huge in gaining a real appreciation for a course in my opinion.  Now if that re-play opportunity didn't exist, playing each course once is a fine alternative!

At a place like Bandon, where I've had the opportunity to play the course multiple times, the ideal day may be something like 54 with one round at each of the existing courses.  OK, who am I kidding - 54 at Pacific Dunes still wins out in that equation as well!

Based on what I know or what I've read or heard from others, my perfect day at courses that I haven't experienced would probably consist of at NGLA or 36 at TOC.

To Huck's point about thinking outside the box, I'd be pretty darn content with playing Banff in the morning and then chilling out in town or at Lake Louise in the afternoon taking it all in.  I've done that combo and it is tough to beat!
I agree with you Tim, the perfect Day of Golf for me is to play the same great course twice, and blame the poorer afternoon score on lunch.  I see too many people rushing to play two different courses the same day.
In honesty my Perfect Golf Day has now changed to what I just did for the past week in the Bahamas, arise late, have breakfast at the local (and see all the old friends) and then enjoy an afternoon round in about 3 hours. Of course,  I like uncrowded old Dick Wilson Courses.

Hard to top Cary's experience......but back to reality.  Played MPCC Shore in the morning and Pasa in the afternoon having played the Dunes and Shore the day before.  T'was a delightful few days.

My perfect day would be:

Bloody Mary at Shinnecock.
Shinnecock holes 10 to 13, then 1 to 6.
NGLA holes 12 to 18.
Lunch at NGLA.
NGLA holes 1 to 11.
Shinnecock holes 7 to 9, then 14 to 18.
Gin and tonic plus club sandwich at Shinnecock, standing on the porch looking out over the course.

On April 28th, 2003 my brother (who is also a super) and I played Pine Valley on a Monday morning and were the only ones on the golf course.  After finishing our round we drove up the NJ Turnpike and played the Lower Course at Baltusrol.  Did I metion they had record highs that day.  It was over 80 degrees.  That has to be at the top of my list.
