Which word do you most dread....
« on: February 12, 2009, 12:08:39 PM »
....reading on the prospectus for a golf course?

I think in the context of the UK it is the word 'Championship.' Almost certainly a championship will never be played there and the design will be a pale imitation of RTJ in the 60s.

Whenever I see "USGA specification" written in the first line or two, it is invariably bad news...

Taking aside the fact that it isn't a specification, it is usually a sign that the owners believe that the course having USGA greens is the number one selling point... Which in turn usually means that they have different priorities to me...

I pulled the following words from the website of a well-liked GCA destination.  Anyone want to take a stab at it?

"grandeur"
"conceived in harmony"
"nature's infinite presence"
"nature is embraced, not conquered"
"structure of a symphony"
"small crescendos"

A bordello outside of Bandon?

Personally, besides the aforementioned "target" I hate to hear "fountains" and "Carts with GPS"
