Playing PB last year for the first time was definitely a "high" for me.  I recall standing on the first tee box with my heart racing in anticipation.  I joked later to my wife that I felt like I was teeing off in the final pairing of a US Open!  Fortunately, #1 is short enough that my hooked 3-iron found the fairway and I got off to a good start.

In terms of less formal or "low" experiences, I enjoyed many rounds of golf with my dad at his 9-hole club in my hometown talking about sports, life, business, et al.  I would gladly trade 1,000 rounds at PB for one more loop with him.

high end - at a first rate golf course I absolutely love the ephemeral qualities presented in the clear air of early morning when few others are around.

low end - the delight of happening upon an honesty box.
