Tobacco Road 2/17
« on: February 12, 2009, 10:35:02 AM »
Tobacco Road is running an email coupon so green fee will be $39. I have a tee time for 2/17 at 8:10am if anyone is interested in joining me.

Wish I could, Ed - Work is not compatible with golf, however, on a Tuesday ;)

No worries guys. I understand the realities of working Mon-Fri. That's why I'm a nurse so I only work 3 days a week. :)

Mike,
Sorry we couldn't make the Cliffs course happen before I left it is such a great spot. I am always amazed that people would practice at the range when the Cliffs course is just 200 yards away and usually empty.

Ed,

With a forecast low of 26 Tuesday morning, your 8:10 tee time might be closer to 10:10.  Too bad you didn't play this week, obviously the weather's been great!

And sorry, can't make it Tues....got TC's all morning.

I do enjoy 'showing' first-timers around TR, though.  Not everything is obvious where you're hitting, etc.  Several blind shots, only can see half the fairway, etc.

Would love to be there.  Cannot get away during the week.
Transport a bit of a problem as well :)

Ash,
It's not THAT far from New Zealand! Although I suppose making the flight twice in the same year is a bit much. :) Looking forward to seeing you again in July.

Scott,
One thing I have learned about NC weather is that it is very changeable so I am not going to worry about the forecast for a couple more days. The price is right, and if I have to wait a couple of hours I'll just read a book.

shivas, in the spirt of fair play, I leave this set up for you to spike.  It's just plain right that you have the honor of doing so.

Ed, if you haven't seen it, please do read the dreaded word thread.  And remember that we love you man.

Ed, I would love to come down and play TR again, I haven't made it out there in a while. I don't have my work schedule for the next week just yet, but based on what I have seen of the weather, it shouldn't be hard to manage. Put me down as playing and I will let you know on Monday for sure if I will be there.

It is still a long time in the air.  If I was to make 2 trips I would max out a new and second credit card.  The NZ dollar has dived so far its underground.  If the US economy sneezes we get pneumonia.

Play well ed, outside chance there might be a time when Im able to make these Tueday rounds with you....developing.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

John,
I look forward to meeting you. I'm in Chapel Hill.

JC,
Are you making the trip through Pinehurst this spring?

Ed,

Unfortunately, I am not.  I may, however, be in the area for other reasons and I'll certainly email you to discuss an outing should the trip materialize.

If mi back would cooperate, I'd be there is a flash
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Good luck with the back. I always that my lucky stars my back has done fine over the years. It seems like once the back goes it is never the same again. I would imagine you know this, but just in case the best thing you can do for your back is strengthen your abdominals.
