Holey moley.  You really are taking this to heart, huh Anthony?

 ;D

Sign me up as a for sure interested tentative. ;D

One bit of advice, however... this is way way off of course... but in the past, MONEY talks.  Ask for deposits.  \

Geeze Tom..... I didn't think that he would actually take your comments to heart and actually make it happen!!!! Sounds good to me though. I might have to make this trip as I have never made it to Bandon.

LATE EDIT TO MY FIRST POST INCLUDED ABOVE...

Anthony, I am living proof that talk is cheap.  I can't come close to planning that far ahead.  Please do not give me a place that others might seriously take.  Much closer to the event I may well beg to join.. but for now... I remain tentatively seriously tentative.

Anthony, just curious.....

What is SOCKS?

What is the difference between "Low Ball" and "Match Play?"

Like Mr. Huckaby I hope to be there.  Hopefully the economy will be healed by then and commercial construction will once again be flourishing!  Then all things are possible.

Bill - I told Anthony in another thread that I'd eat my socks if he couldn't get 16 to come to any event he planned for Bandon.

I am assuming low ball is fourball... and match play is a singles match.

I would certainly be interested in playing, but considering I have no idea what I will be doing in 19+ months, its hard to commit. Maybe if you are making a highly tentative list, put me on it.

I have never attended a GCA event, i have never been to Bandon. This seems like the perfect opportunity to do both. Count me in.

Any details on approx cost per person?

I would love to participate, but as I'm only a 9-hour drive away and I've been once before, I'll leave those spots open for someone that has never been to the greatest place on earth. Consider me a possible substitute for late-notice cancellations.

Now Mr. Benham will cringe at me attempting to speak for him....

But in past announcements of outings and rounds, he's been rather included IN regardless of what he said (thus my post in response channeling the Emperor).  Methinks this time he's just trying to head this off at the pass.  He is also a realist, unlike dreamer me.

I'm a dreamer too...

Count me in as maybe/tentative/interested...and I may bring a friend along too if/when its a reality and if there is space.  Who knows, he could be 16th and be the one who saves Tom a trip to the Hospital where he has to explain the wad of cotton/polyster mesh in his stomach!

Anthony,
Way to take the ball and run with it. If opening day for Old Mac doesn't pan out I may be interested. One suggestion is to rethink the lodging option. The golf is going to be less than $1000 for this event, but then $2600 for room and food seems a little steep for this diaper-changer.
For anyone who hasn't been to Bandon before this seems like a great introduction to the courses.

I would rather esimate high then come in low. Rooms look like $425 a night plus taxes. This total fee includes $100 per round for a caddie. I assumed there may be heavy drinkers so I estimated the food high. $3600 is a safe estimate. Should be some money left over for the proshop also.

John - I think you may be right but I hope not... but I think my statement was hasty and didn't consider the PRICE for this.  That is pretty steep.  Still, it's a long way off... hopefully Anthony can fill all 16 slots.

Sock fricassee is very tasty, I hear.
