Middle East Golf

The past three weeks the European Tour has been in the Middle East.  Of the three courses, which one looks the most interesting.

They are:

National Golf Club of Abu Dhabi
Doha Golf Club in Qatar
Emirates Golf Club in Dubai

From what I've seen on TV, Doha looked the most interesting, but I still think that Abu Dhabi's has the coolest clubhouse I've seen.



The drivable 16th hole in Doha.  The big rock in the fairway hides the green.  Looks neat to me:

....will be playing Emirates in three weeks. Apparently the second course Wadi, since the Faldo renovations is on a par with the Majils tournament course. My first time to Dubai however. Which of the two should I play if I have to choose?

And if I have 2 rounds? one each, two on Majils, or two on Wadi?

Or should I opt for another course....?

(The Greg Norman Earth course, home of the race to Dubai Final, will not be finished until later in the year.)

That's an interesting edge on the bunkers at the Els course, kind of like a sand-belt finish, only with grass. Looks like hell to trim.

The fairway to desert transitions are a bit abrupt!  To say the very least.....

....but it does add to the "Arabian Nights" fantasy of these Middle East courses.

Do they get much play?  Do the golf carts have mist sprayers?  Melvyn would not approve!
