Nice piece of technology

Just attended a presentation of Microsoft Live Labs Photosynth. A quite impressive software project that would add a new perspective on how golf courses could be presented on the web. Imagine that everyone here uploads their pictures of a certain course which then is reconstructed by this neat thing.

You can check out the tech preview at http://labs.live.com/photosynth/

Too bad it only runs on Internet Explorer.  Some day Microsoft will get it (I know, they say they are going to make it run on other browsers, but I wouldn't hold my breath.)

Well, JVB, you can breathe out.  It works on Firefox.  Would be great to get something going on the golf front.  The golf-themed ones posted so far are unbelieveably weak -- but then it works best when you've got 2-million freaking photogs snapping away.

Pretty cool, indeed. I just toured the Long Market in Gdansk, Poland in a pretty comprehensive, on the ground kind of way.

The obvious thing to do would be to send this to Frank Pont--which I did straightaway.
