Walkin the back 9 with Lee, Gil, and Hale
« on: October 17, 2009, 09:08:56 PM »
 8)

Who cares if Lee is 11 over? He's japping all the time with folks.. chuckling when he steals the tee box honors on 12, rubbing it in when he validates with a birdie on the island hole 13th.. then on the 14th tee 176 or so gets close.. after Hale and gil hit.. hey Hale what did you hit, 6 or 5 iron???  I hit a 7 (fist pump) saying "wood" under his breath..

Gil and Hale just seem to want to still beat each other up, like they're in perpetual match play.. while they're 3 over

Lee jumps on a cart between several holes, but is all business over the ball,.. playing very quickly, doing that little step thing.. tournament golf is making shots, as necessary, I can just imagine a certain Scot taking him to task for playing cart-ball..  not golf..

Can't really get too worked up over what the pros do.. sit at the range, they allmost all come into the ball in a very pure way.. the ball
is under control, the course just a backdrop a canvas, if you will, for whoever is hot this week.

Leave the road hole alone!

Steve -

Thanks for the post. Any chance one has to watch Lee Trevino play golf (or even hit balls on the range) should not be passed up.  Trevino is on the short list of the best ball strikers/shotmakers since Ben Hogan.

Sat next to him on a flight once in the mid 90's.  The size of his forearms was a sight to behold, even for a heterosexual....
