Melvyn,

These images are very well done and suitable for framing. Thank you.

Best to you and yours, and I'll be seeing you in June 2010.

Thank you, Melvyn. My best to you too.

And yes, as Kyle says, that's a lovely photo.

I once asked what was in Old Tom's heart. From the photo, I think the answer is "peace".

Although I dont know,I have always looked at Old Tom with sadness because of losing his son so young.I am sure that was more common then, but the fact he was his namesake and they shared the same profession.Melvyn,I should know more of their relationship, etc.

Melvyn, Happy New Year to you too, and thanks again for the Glenmorangie, a highlight of our June trip to the cradle of golf!

Happy New Year, Melvyn -- thanks again for the excellent whisky last June.  It bonded forever with BUDA, unless Peter M surreptitiously and counter to the laws of BUDA had th' auld mug scoord (scoured).

Anthony, ma guid wee lad, a dram or two on me for your humo(u)r in 2009.

And the champion golfer of (BUDA) 2009 is...

 8) do you toast on the GMT hour of midnight or also as father time passes by other golfing venues during the night?

Melvyn,

Thanks for taking the time to put your greeting and images together.

An older - Old Tom, by his hallowed ground, with the ladies - lovely.

I have included a scan of David Forgan's narrative from Hudzan’s book,
read many times - but worth another look.

Cheers -- L

To Lyne & All

Thanks for your comments.

Will 2009 be the year of the traditionalist and purist golfers?  >:(

Will thunderbolts rain down from the heavens to scramble the GPS/Range Finders?  ::)

Will cart tracks melt in the hot sun sticking the cart wheels, rendering carts unusable?  ;D

Will North American beer be consumed in the current volumes if it were served up warm?  :o

Will the majority of golfers get round 18 holes under 5 hours – yes they will in GB&I as long as we are not following our American Cousins :D – one reason why many of us do not play at Dornoch these days. :'(

And a Happy New Year to you All  8)

Melvyn

A Happy 2009 to you Mr Morris and keep up the posts
