Gil Hanse Talks Golf Architecture
« on: December 23, 2008, 04:28:58 PM »
Ah, some more video to enjoy!  This also came from the Philly GCA gathering last Wednesday night at Tom Paul's war room.  Again the audio is not great, but it is usable.

Thanks Joe! I was hoping you were able to salvage the footage. I admire Gil and his work very much.

I don't want to slurp on the guy, but Gil has always been a great example of good old-fashioned class every time I've been with him.

Nice use of technical jargon there, Dan.

Dan,
Gil is first class all the way.  For as talented and knowledgable as he is, he is also as humble as they get.  I would not be doing what I am doing were it not for his encouragement and support.

Wow.

34 courses in '09.
That is a precise estimate.

Thank you for sharing the video.
It brings back memories of the old winter gatherings.
Had I known the barn was so nice I would have been there...  :)

These were great, would love to see videos of all of the guest speakers at our functions.

Did anyone or could anyone catch the first part and last sentence of the Castle Stuart question?  Obviously heard the answer, but would like relate the answer to the context of the question.

Does anyone have the time to transcribe the wise words of Hanse?

It would be great to add a transcript to the board as the text would be saved.

Thanks so much for posting the video links! If there's any justice, Gil will take his place at the highest echelon of his profession over time.

For me, he already has.
