Seasonal Aerials

I have collected together a series of aerials from around the world. Some have been rotated by up to 100 degrees, the better to fit the screen. The only hint you need is that the first letters of their names spell out an appropriate message, and that each separate post is a new word.

Okay Mark, I'll give it a start. I'm probably missing some really obvious ones but here goes...

M
E
R
R
Y Yelverton, Devon (looks an interesting layout? Herbert Fowler design and Henry Longhurst used to play here)

C
H  Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers
R
I
S
T
M Merion
A (this one is bugging me?)
S

A Alwoodley
N
D Durban?

A

H
A
P
P Painswick
Y

N
E
W

Y Yale
E
A
R Royal Ashdown Forest

Not a great effort, but when you have the whole World to choose from, its not easy?

Cheers,

James

I certainly recognized 4 of the 5 that were AOTD's, Merion, Yale (a GREAT, updated aerial!), Alwoodley (didn't recognize RAF), and:

Sorry, but I see nothing in that (brilliant) compilation that looks anything like Painswick.  The only one that does has an ocean close by on the west.  Help please!

If you had stuck around longer, rather than flitting off to Wales with Tiger B in the middle of the competition you would know that is Painswick.  Shame on you! ;)

I just didn't realize there was a large body of water that close by!  I guess that's the river you see from the Beacon (you could see the bridge at Bristol as I recall, far off in the distance).

And FYI I returned to Painswick the following summer for a couple more rounds, this time with the Mrs. in tow.  ;D

I'm hoping that those who are wiser than me will fill this in.

Okay, now I see I was looking at the wrong aerial - it's actually #4 aerial in Reply #4.  With #8 and #9 cut off in the lower right corner.  It looks a lot different from the ground, but you can best make out #3 and #13 crossing over.

Love the Muirfield aerial.  You can very clearly see the walking paths used by the non-drivers for the afternoon foursomes games!

Think thats all I'll be able to manage without any more clues?

Cheers
