Greatest sporting statement ever?
« on: November 06, 2011, 10:04:39 AM »
Just watched the remarkable "Chasing Legends" following team Columbia HTC in the 2009 Tour De France possibly the best sports documentary ever. Mark Cavendish came out with the imortal line;

"You know that little thing in your mind that says, kind of, I shouldn't really do that , we don't have that"

Could that attitude succeed in golf or is conservative play rewarded too well?

Mark,

Even though its led to a few blow ups...I think Phil is that kind of player and in the aggregate has seemed to work out pretty darn good for him.

PS - As for bike racing in the Alps...you defintely need to be crazy because you can easily die/hurt yourself really bad on any one of those Apline descents.

Quote of the year. Luckily there appears to be no value to doping in golf, so I guess those golfers, who "don't have that thing in their mind", still compete fairly with the rest of the field.
