Jim aside from the usual fools like us ........ ;D

I think this book will sell a lot more than the Macdonald book mainly because there will be so many more course reviews in the book than the other book.

Most clubs do not carry The Evangelist of Golf book in the pro shops, I think, because their course was not in the book.

The main object of all this has always been, starting from the beginning of this project, was to tell the Raynor story. When I first started hardly anyone even knew who he was.

I had never heard of him and I had been playing Banks courses for 40 years.  The lack of information about Raynor really intrigued me.
If a player insists on playing his maximum power on his tee-shot, it is not the architect's intention to allow him an overly wide target to hit to but rather should be allowed this privilege of maximum power except under conditions of exceptional skill.

I'd want the word 'engineer' in the title if it were my book.
The Captain works pretty well I think.
I'd go for
The Engineer
The life and golf courses of Seth Raynor

Then I'd change my mind and I'd fill a whole note book with ideas.
Then I'd go back to the first idea (based on real life experience in the naming game).

George,

I haven't come up with a title yet, but, reference should probably be made to the chronological path he traveled.

Engineer, Surveyor, Architect.

I like it simple.

The Disciple or The Engineer without all the other words thrown in there. You can use a subtitle for that.

or

Square Bunkers Rule - the Works of Seth Raynor - (my own fave  ???  :'()

Adam, yours is close and could be:  Rain-or Shine   :P

Joe Hancock, I like yours

Jim Thompson - couple of real good ones in your post

I like a lot of the earlier ones linking the Disciple & Apostle words to the Evangelist book - seems a nice link of the two books

Chris: no I do not have publisher yet - will be looking for one as I move forward.

Finished date?  I have no idea. There still a lot to do and I want this book to be "right" so I'll not be racing any timetable.

Lots of courses involvd in this story

How about his work out here along the Pacific Ocean?

Title? Seth Raynor Squared.

But, written with the letters 'S' and 'R' as a club might have as its logo, followed by a small number '2'

I don't think the title should presume too much knowledge on the reader's part.  For instance, The Disciple etc sounds very religious and for those that may not have an inkling who the the man was...  If religious words are to be used I think they should be linked somehow to golf.  Ditto for engineer or surveyor.
