I have seen a few terrific-looking pictures of this course, even before Aidan's.  They all seem to be of the last two holes, even though I'm told these are not the only coastal holes on the course.

One thing they had better correct is the hairy native grass on some of the bunkers -- look at the greenside bunkers on #17 in Aidan's fifth photo!  With water on three sides of the green, that's a pretty severe way to complete the defenses.

Isn't Roko Ki featured or going to be featured in T&L Golf?  Does anyone know if that issue is available yet?

Tom,

It does appear that those are indeed the only holes along the water along with the green compex for 16.

Joel,
Are you staying at one of the resorts, or can you pay a daily fee?

I am staying a Cap Cana, which is somewhat nearby, and going to Roko Ki as the guest of the pro, who I was introduced to via their Marketing Department.

The Reviews

“How do you rate The Faldo Legacy Course?” That was the question of the day for the group of golf course raters from Golfweek Magazine who played the first nine holes of the course on Sunday, June 1, 2008. This select group of 41 included golf course enthusiasts from all walks of life, who were welcomed for a private round on the highly anticipated new course.

Accompanied by the editorial staff and publisher of Golfweek Magazine, the group evaluated the course on many different aspects including memorability, shot value, playability, ambiance, variety of golf holes and overall course aesthetics. The response from the group was just as we expected—everyone wants to return to Roco Ki to play the back nine as soon as it's completed in December 2008."

The above is from  the website. Anyone here want to admit that they are one of the "select group"?

And, who paid for the editorial staff and publisher to attend?

Perhaps that is why I've been seeing a lot of pictures of this place.

The grass is so perfect, soooooooooooo green, makes me think these photos may have been enhanced.
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

I have little doubt these photos have some post-processing.  Green is an interesting color.  And it doesn't look quite normal in those pics.

I got my T&L about a month ago - the Roko Ki bit is in the best new courses issue.

It is one of the 10 "best new" and also receives some press elsewhere in the magazine.

Seems like they are spending a ton of marketing dollars on the place trying to get print . . . which they want the golfer to pay for with $225 to $400 green fees which is feckin' ridiculous.

That course looks pretty hard.  Pretty narrow considering the fairways have bunkers and native grass on both sides.
