Using my on-line word-checker-suggester, I suspect the word you required for 'natural little green sitting area' is amphitheater. (I had spelled the word amphitheatre, in the English manner, but Firefox recommended the American spelling).

One thing is for sure - beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. Wow! that was a fantastic array of wonderful and horrible holes. Great work Sean, and thanks to this post I'm now convinced that if Ballyneal isn't the best course in the world, it is definitely the most photogenic.

I don't really have favourites but this hole is always up there in my thoughts. Not my photo.

And the second is #11 at Pajaro Valley - a very very tough golf hole.

And I kinda like the idea of playing in jeans in Jason's pic - is that Sutton Bay?

It also looks like he crawled around in a couple marshes looking for his golf ball!!!  One of the best pics ever posted on this site, IMHO.

The other one (Hill I think) is worse.  I watched a good bunker player spend a lot of time in there.

Absolutely.  I think any course worth its salt should allow them - especially when it is under 40 degrees.
